GA1 continues to develop the marketing campaign for DC Tobacco Free Families. August 11, 2008 was the launch date for two new PSA’s entitled “Green on The Line” and “Pretty Picture”. Both PSA’s feature Darrell Green educating the public about the 250 deadly poisons contained in tobacco smoke and encourages smokers to call the quit line to receive free counseling. The launch featured remarks from Dr. Pierre Vigilance of the DC Department of Health, Rolando Andrewn, CEO of the American Lung Association and Debra Annand, Project Manager of DCTFF. The campaign includes TV, radio, metro and print ads, Washington Wizards and Mystics awareness nights and collateral material for distribution across the city. The media campaign not only features Green, but Caron Butler of the Washington Wizards, Nakia Sanford of the Washington Mystics, popular Washington DC Go Go Band Mambo Sauce and WPGC radio personality Justine Love, all of whom condemn tobacco use.
